Hello All,
I'm trying to update my Dir-615 C1 router, but I can't. Whenever I click the check for firmware update button on the router's tools page, I keep getting that the firmware version I have now (3.01) is the latest version. I know this can't be true; I'm seeing several topics of people with a later firmware, and the dlink website itself says that the latest firmware version for hw revision C routers is 3.12 (http://www.dlink.com/products/?tab=3&pid=DIR-615&rev=DIR-615_revC)
Can anyone help me update my firmware? Everytime I manually download and update the firmware on my router, the router gives me an "upload failed" page saying the version of router I have is incompatible with the firmware I downloaded. If this is true, then where do I find firmware updates for revision C1 devices?
Thanks for all the help.

Hey
First, you have to download new firmware from dlink website on your computer and unzipped this folder. than install it on router. New firmware is very good. I have no problem of disconnecting wireless connection as I am using it two weeks.

Are you sure you have a C1 revision router? Look on the bottom of the router!
You could upload the firmware using the emergency webpage.
See how-to here:

At step 2:
Replace the fw file with the fw for your router.

Hi,
I also have a similar problem - I have FW 3.01 with HW C1. I am trying to upgrade to FW 3.11 to have the web filters working. I downloaded the 3.11 FW (from D-link website) on the PC, unzipped it and then tried to upgrade from the D-Link menu (using a wired Ethernet connection). However each time it says that the new FW is not compatible. I also tried to find the latest FW from the D-link menu, but it responds that it is the latest FW.
Thanks.
Shahid.

Are you using Internet Explorer or another browser when you try to update the firmware? Other posters have found they must use IE (yechh!) to get the firmware to upload.

Okay, I resolved the issue. You have to update the firmware immediately after you restart the router by holding down the reset button on its back for 10 seconds or so. I had to fight the thing for it to finally update itself. ::)

That's what I said when I posted the link to my other post (Flash the firmware using the Emergency wepbage). Did you bother to check it?
I love when people have a hard time trying to figure it out on their own and not follow friendly recommendations.

I have Hardware version C1 router and now i am running my router dir-615 with firmware version: 3.12NA.

It's the same process for all DIR routers no matter what revision they are. Read my post again and find out you did in the same way.
