Title: dir615 connected to desktop but cannot get on internet
Post by: faith13 on March 28, 2010, 09:10:33 PM
i have a dir615 n300 router connected to my desktop. i can access the internet wirelessly through my laptop and psp, but not my desktop. i ran "fix it", renewed ip, and checked device manager. nothing seems out of whack, except i get an error code 815 when i try to connect to the internet. i also got an error code 1231 when i tried to ping my laptop. when i pinged google.ca, it also wouldn't go through. cna anybody out there help me before i go crazy trying to figure this out? also, i could connect this morning, but only for about an hour, then it booted me off and i haven't been able to get on the internet since. i've read all sorts of forums, microsoft kb's and d-link troubleshooting. nothing seems to work! i'm obviously missing something or not doing something correctly here! any info would be greatly appreciated!

Try changing the 802.11 mode to mixed g+b, not N and see if you get a connection. I say this because I also have the same router with a crappy d-link dwa 130 N wireless rev c1 usb nic and i can only get the net if the routers 802.11 mode is set to g+b.
