i barely have my DAP 1522 (as a bridge) connected to my DIR 655 - speed is crawling.
when I click setup, and then click wireless, I don't have any options at all.
-
You should have some. As a bridge you should have all client-options to set up, unless you are not logged in with an administrator-account. The clients-options for the bridge-setting are limited to network, wireless and some advanced settings. 3-4 tabs in all.
Speed is crawling can had a number of reasons. Distance, interference, security-settings, hitch-hikers... Too many to mention.

im logged in as admin - and wireless settings page has no options. i even tried rolling back to factory settings and nothing.
i can't check it until later today - but would the browser be an issue? i used firefox. firefox used the dlink emulator ok, but i wonder if IE would load that page.
-
This is a known issue.
You need to use IE.
-
thanks for the confirmation. it didn't dawn on me until I was looking at the emulator.
-
I have not had any problems with Firefox on any of my routers, IP-cams and so forth. But because of the number of add-ins, plug-ins and options to block, it seems Firefox is not universal enough. I could run the emulator just fine with firefox. So could be a blocker of some kind. True. Alas. "Everything is not created equal" (sic).
-
yeah i ran the emulator fine in FireFox. So who knows. I will check it later today.

got it working. 802.11 Mode is grayed out. i changed the router to N only but the 802.11 Mode on the Bridge still says mixed. the speed is maxing out at 64MB - better than when it was N and G, but no G.
i wonder if the dual band router would do better
-
is there anyway to change 802.11 Mode to just G and N?
-
Sorry, can't help you there. I do not have a DAP-1522 myself, but what I have heard, is, that you cannot change that option as a Bridge, only under AP mode... But again, only on hear-say...
-
In bridge mode the DAP acts as a client and will always use the same settings as your router or access point it is connected to.
So there is no need to set anything but the password.

Any idea if they are going to fix it?

It is a firmware 1.21 problem. It worked fine in 1.20 (with IE and also with Firefox).
Now it works ok only with IE.
I hope it gets fixed soon.

I agree, I hope it gets fixed soon. (Mackerel, I'm sorry but since you don't have a DAP-1522, you didn't see the problem, I have four). The product works pretty well (not great, I have issues with antenna range), especially as an AP. In the meantime, two of my 1522's are new and came with 1.21. Does anyone know if there's an issue downgrading to 1.20? As far as I can tell from the release notes, 1.21's changes were mostly cosmetic or uninteresting (other than introducing the Firefox, etc., bug).
