Hey guys, so recently ive had this problem, i cant stream anymore using 2.4 Ghz G+N, majority youtube and some movie sites. I did several tests, i reset router to factory settings couldnt stream using 2.4 G+N on youtube. Still on factory settings went to 5 Ghz N only, stream was flawless, i saw the buffer zone zoom off and i watch the video with no hiccups. Ive never had this problem before, ever. At first i thought it was my dsl and there were no problems. I even tried streaming via ethernet straight to modem no router and i had no probems.
Now i loaded my settings that i saved still cannot stream with those settings on 2.4, same settings on 5 Ghz N only, flawless streaming. Now your probably guessing why dont you just stay at 5 Ghz N, the reason is i have another laptop that i use that runs off G and my iPhone also that i use wirelessly via wifi.
A interesting thing I can play online on my xbox 360 playing battle field 2(and any other game online) with absolutely no problems and that is on 2.4 Ghz N(5 Ghz no problems also). So i think the problem is my MacBook to my router. If i made a WISH rule for my macbook only do you think that would help with my streaming problem? Any other ideas? i tried everything that i could think of

I will give your setup a go when I get home from work today and see if I can reproduce the same issue on my MBP.

Sweet thanks, let me know im very curious to find out what this is

Ok J, Just watched Heart Shaped Glasses and Tourniquet on both my 4500's. One is using FW v1.15 and the other is v1.22. Both were set up for N and G modes on 2.4Ghz. Saw no issues with delay or re-buffering. The buffers seem to keep well head of the actual play zone during play. There could be an issue with your router or MBP. Can you find a different access point to see if you see the same issues using a different ISP and router? Could help narrow down if your Wifi on the router or MBP is acting strange.

I have no idea then, i mean could it the interference with other networks? Because everything was working fine before i say a week or 2 ago. I havent changed any settings or anything. Would WISH help with the streaming if i made a rule?

worth a try. However WISH is disabled for me.

I turned off WISH, same problem. Funny thing I switched to 5Ghz and had the same problem. I don't know what to do, I guess I'll just have to figure something out. And I have a 2007 MacBook. It's black.

Might call up DLink and ask. I would definitely try going to another WiFi access point and see if the same problem comes up. My MBP is a late 15" 07 silver refurb.

Would me being too close to the router have anything to do with it?
-
No shouldn't I've had mine like less that a foot while in my office. I have wondered about that. Can't really say if closer could an impact. What happens when you go farther away?

YouTube is doing good now, I played a video on yahoo buffered twice, maybe bc I have wish off

I think that matters if your're less than the wavelength away, which in this case is about 0.4ft!

Well, lets see what happens if you move farther away then. I was in my living room yesterday which is about 15-20 feet away from my office where the 4500 sits.
