Title: Adding/Changing "Shares"
Post by: jtrevill on March 30, 2010, 03:41:44 PM
I'm setting up a Sonos music player in my house.  When using a NAS it requires you point it at a "Share" on the NAS.  From what I understand, a NAS can only have a share at the root level.  I have numerous other things on the NAS that I don't need shared with the music player.  Can I create a share at a different level?  Can I create a seperate share at the root level?  Any help is appreciated!

I think I've figured it out - in case anyone else is having this issue:

On the DNS 343 config page go to "Advanced" and then "Network Access".

Choose SMB and User and then check all accounts. Browse to the folder you want and change permissions to read/write. Save settings and it will create the share at the level you choose. Sonos will then be able to find that new share.
