Title: Unable to Transfer files to DNS 323 - Vista
Post by: cultivate on March 30, 2010, 06:33:56 PM
So I just got my DNS 323 today, and I'm having problems with my vista laptop.

I'm able to access the admin panel, browse and stream from the DNS, I'm even able to print, but when ever I try to transfer files to the drive nothing happens. The copying box appears but nothing is transferring.

I've restarted my computer, the DNS, my router, and my modem multiple times. I've also turned off my firewalls with no luck.

Does anyone know what could be happening? Or has anyone had this problem before?
Any insight would be a big help!

I've been playing around with this some more and everything seems to work fine in safe mode.

Any Idea why this might be? Any suggestions on narrowing the search to figuring out what is causing the problem?

thanks.

Can you copy files from the box but not to it?  Is is a permissions issue (and if it is - not quite sure how to fix it)

Yes I'm able to copy files from the box, but it doesn't seem to let me write . Does anyone have any idea?

did you try reseting the DNS-323 to deefault settings.
Setup the DNS-323 manually (do no reload a saved settings file)
but do not set any users for now... keep the default accesses

See if you can copy files to the DNS-323

Check you user permission from the admin webpage, make sure the share you mapped has both r/w permission for you.
