I recently had to have some adjustments done to my Aliant DSL. When they did this they also changed my modem out and gave me a combination modem & wireless router (Siemens gigaset SE567). Now instead of my Dlink DIR655 doing my PPoE login the gigaset SE567 now does this. The wireless feature is not enabled on the SE567. Because of the new setup most of the settings I had setup in the DIR655 don’t work now. The Remote desktop now will not work and this is one of the most important features I’d like to get working again ASAP. I have gone thru all the menus of the SE567 and I cannot find a setting that would turn the SE567 into a modem only because I believe that would solve all my problems that I currently have with the new setup. The Ip address for the SE567 is 192.168.2.1 and it has given an IP to the DIR655 of 192.168.2.10 My Dir655 assigns all of my IP address to any other computers that connected and they are assigned a 192.168.0.xxx Are there any changes I can make that will hand the control back to the DIR655 besides trying to bridge the SE567?

With 53 reads surely someone can suggest a solution. ::)

I'm trying to do something something similar, plugging the DIR655 into another router. I read on some sites that you need to turn off the DCHP on your second router, the DIR655.

Could you try setting the DNS range on the DIR-655 to a range not being 192.168.n.n.
Think the outside IP and internal LAN are in same range, not sure but think this is an issue to get it to work.
Try something different like 88.n.n.n.
So your DIR-655 seems to get an IP from the modem (gigaset).
But it is itself via its DHCP releasing number in its default 192.168.0.n range.
Change this to be 88.n.n.n. as suggested.
After doing so you can reach the DIR-655 via its then default gateway 88.nn.nn.zz (probably zz will be 1).
Not sure if what i meant with Remote network but in the settings you will have to apply the 88.nn.nn.nn range to open ports or enable other functinality.
