Title: seeking HOWTO -- config multiple DNS addresses passed to DHCP clients
Post by: SaintDanBert on March 31, 2010, 02:31:48 PM
Another company's router-gateway-access_point will let me list up to three IP addresses that DHCP
will pass along to clients at lease-connect time.  My DIR-655 only passes along the address of the
router-gateway-access_point.  Is there some way to alter this behavior?

Hi,

Maybe I'm being a little slow here, but why would you want or need to pass more than one IP address to a DHCP served client.

Is there a way to use more than 1 IP addy per device ?

If you're referring to DHCP passing on multiple DNS server addies to the clients, then you will have to do the following:

1) Disable DNS relay in the Network Settings section, and
2) Enter Primary and Secondary DNS addies in the Internet Section. If you don't enter the addies manuallym then the router will pass on your ISPs DNS addies. It will still be two (and not three) addies that the clients will get.

Hope this helps.
