Title: Blocking Ports on DIR-615
Post by: Mahoo on April 05, 2010, 04:09:55 AM
2nd Attempt yes I know it may count as spamming but this is important; does anyone know how any option in the dlink http://192.168.0.1 router options where I can block ports. I've found the location of the Port Filter, all I need to know is what to enter into the boxes?

Advanced -> Access control -> Add policy (continue onto step 4) -> Select Filtering Method (I ticked 'Apply Advanced Port Filters' and clicked 'Next') -> 'Step 5: Port Filter' (I don't know what to write in the boxes here to block ports, I don't know how to set it all up from this step to block specific ports)

Please if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

What you need to write depends on which ports/services you wish to block.

If you haven't done any port forwardings and your router is in gateway-mode (meaning that you haven't yourself changed these settings) you are safe. Your router / NAT is blocking all incoming connection attemps.
