Post by: larsenfrh on April 05, 2010, 10:38:15 AM
I have installed at 500 GB harddisc in my router.
I can't see it from my windows 7 based computer, but have no problems viewing it fra my labtop with windows vista.

Any suggestions ???

I think problems with the network id the router hd is workgroups and windows 7 is what every you set dhcp on your router. My windows 7 will pick it up after a while. You could try changing you system all to workgroups on dhcp then joining workgroups on your windows 7 pc.

Ok, I have Vista 64 bit and not Windows 7 so my suggestion may not work seeing that it's 2 different OS's.  But in order for my computer (HP Laptop) to see my WD 640 GB HD that's in my router, I had to map the network drive (WD 640 GB HD).  After doing so, I could use Win Explorer and access it fine.

How would you map a drive to it in Windows 7?

I windows explorer find the drive on the router, then tools map network drive. And that should be it. Good Luck M
