Title: Cable Diagnostics

I am finding the cable diagnostics feature interesting but have a few questions
One cable reads OK on pairs 1 and 2 but pairs 3 and 4 read short in cable.  Is this a bad condition?  Since I see no TX error or RX error on that port is it OK to ignore this?

The one that really has me confused is a cable that's OK on pair 1, impedance mismatch on 2 and 3 and OK on 4 what does impedance mismatch mean and what if anything should i do to fix it?
Also is cable distance being measured from the device to the terminating NIC or from the device to the wall patch panel?

Ideally you don't want any shorts or impedance mismatches.

Impedance mismatch is a more complex cable fault, but for our purposes just consider it a cable fault.

That said I don't think I have ever seen anyone throw up a new cable run because 1 pair showed as bad without affecting functionality.
