Title: HD Content - stuttering over wireless
Post by: jvgmass on February 18, 2008, 10:47:24 AM
I am trying to play HD content recorded OTA from a shared folder on a Vista/MCE machine, and get significant stutter/jitter after ~5 seconds of play time.  This only occurs using wireless, and only HD content.  I can play ripped DIVX/AVI/etc files wired or wireless without issue.  My access point is 15 feet from the DSM510 in a direct line of sight and no metal ducts or other obstructions.  The AP is a 3Com 7760 with b/g capability, and is the only device connected to this AP.

I assume since there is HDMI output, the DSM510 should be able to support HD via wireless.  What is the minimum speed needed?

Is anyone else having this issue?

Thanksin advance.

Try it wired to see if you have the same results. It may be due to the limited bandwidth of you wireless connection. Steaming HD video required more bandwidth and a higher bitrate for streaming.

Wired works fine for all media - no delays at all.
Its only a problem for HD content over wireless.
