Title: Xbox360
Post by: whiteout1 on April 10, 2010, 05:27:15 PM
Sorry if there is already a guide posted but I am new to the forums.  I have the 321 hooked up and set up as a AV server.  The songs come up on my 360 but when I try to play them it wont stream.  it also only shows the album it wont show artist or just song.  Does anyone have any advice for getting the 360 to stream all of the mp3s?

Thanks

Your best bet would be to stream through Windows Media Center if you have it. Sometime at any given moment if the XBOX is feeling you that day, it will allow you to stream music directly from the DNS-321. But if you dont feel like waiting that long, Windows Media Player, Windows Media Center, TVersity or other similar products to catalog from the DNS-32x and then your XBOX will connect to those software and stream correctly

I have had a lot of issues with the built in D-Link media server streaming to the 360. It worked for a bit but I think I have too many files in my shared folders so it fails to display anything in these. I started using TVersity to stream media from the D-Link to the Xbox instead and I highly recommend it.

Try accessing your music file by folder on the Xbox. Goto Music then Folder and access the album in its folder. Also make sure you are running the latest firmware 1.03.

Do the hard drives in the 321 need to be formatted in fat32 or will the xbox still access them if the drives are ext3?

My xbox 360 is not seeing my Dns 321 that is formatted in ext3.
