Title: Unable to Map Drive.
Post by: smackhappy on April 12, 2010, 02:04:57 AM
Hi, I have DNS-323 and had to reformat a drive and rebuild my raid 1.
Now I am unable to map drive.
fw version 1.08 Raid 1, Windows 7.

Easy Search Utility is able to locate the drive. However, when trying to connect I get pop up : "Failed to map drive"
When using windows explorer utility I get "Windows cannot access \\192.168.1.XXX\Volume_1 Cleck spelling etcetc."
Running the diagnostic option says it "can find 192.168.1.XXX but cannot find Volume_1"

I am able to Ping, FTP and Telnet (funplug) into the device and the directory structure exists.

Can someone please help me re-map this drive?

Thanks!
Chris

Did you create a share in the Network Access options?
Be sure to active oplocks.

Can you see / access the NAS at "My Network Places" in the windows explorer?

Is the NAS in the same WORKGROUP as Windows 7?

Thanks for the suggestions.

Hard Reset after FW upgrade is what fixed it.

FWIW, you should always do a factory reset after a firmware upgrade, that applies to almost any SOHO device.
