Title: DWA-556 not connecting to DIR-825
Post by: glowble on April 13, 2010, 03:11:09 PM
Frustrated that this is the first add-on card that wasn't plug and play!

Motherboard: Intel DG45FC with latest BIOS (IDG4510H.86A) release April 8th, 2010.
Router: DIR-825 with Firmware V2.02NA (hardware Rev B1)
Wireless: DWA-655 Firmware (unknown, purchased in April 2010)
O/S: XP Pro with SP3 and all security patches

Tried with DWA-655 driver V1.30 and V1.40, tried both D-Link's Wireless Connection Manager and the Wireless Connection application with XP.

Results are the same:
- I can see all the different wireless networks with excellent signals.
- I type in encryption code.
- No connection.
- I've tried removing Encryption on the DIR-825 Guest, can not connect to that either.
- I've forced the encryption code to be WPA2 AES on both router and the DWA-556.

Anyone can shine some lights on this? or did I purchase a DOA?

Thanks in advance!

To add, I've got 2 other laptops on the same network.

One running on the 5.0 GHz Channel, one running on the 2.4 Channel on the DIR-825.
Have a network printer connected to the LAN.

They have no issues with the passcode/WPA2 encryptions.
