Hello All;
We just switched from Comcast to Verizon Fios and can no longer get packets received through the DIR-655. The Verizon modem/router is the Actiontec M1424-WR, a 4port for Ethernet, and a very slow 54mbs wireless. Does anyone know of a "work-around" that will let me get back to the "fabulous" 130+mbs that we got from the DIR-655? Please, Oh please let there be one!! Thanks for any info. Jim

I'm assuming you get your full download speed when connected via Ethernet.
So:
1. FiOS into actiontec modem/router
2. Connect Actiontec LAN (Ethernet port) to DIR-655 WAN (Internet IN).
3. It should work if you use Actiontec for Wireless G only and the D-link set up for Wireless-N only.
(NOTE you don't have to set D-link to wireless N only, but try both ways, see which works best)
Let us know how it works.

I have this same setup and it is working just fine. My router is setup for DHCP and connected from its WAN port to the Actiontec LAN port. The Actiontec is still 196.168.1.x while the 655 is default at 192.168.0.x. I turned off the wireless from the Actiontec and enabled it on the 655.
So far everything is working well without any issues (besides the Access Control issues) and the speed on the N portion is great!

Hi / Hey All,
I, too have switched from Comcast to Verizon FIOS.
I have the Wireless Signal from the ActionTec Router off.
I have the Wan Port of the D-Link Router plugged into the Lan #1 Port of the ActionTec.
I also had to create a Rule to allow FTP to the D-link DIR-655 Router, because I also have the DNS-323 Unit from D-Link.
I put the DNS-323 Unit in the DMZ Zone of the Router. Had it working but a Power Failure missed up the settings I had for the ActionTec. ActionTec does not save its settings, but the D-Link does.
