Title: DIR-655 needs a DGS-2205 - YES ?
Post by: ChillyCat on April 22, 2010, 05:56:24 AM
Located at my little computer cubby , is of course , my computer and modem and DIR-655

I have a  inwall audio/video rack that contains my PS3 , Mede8er Media Tank , HTPC.
The rack is aprox 20 feet from router.

I've already run one cat5 cable to the rack , as I originally only had the HTPC networked.
Now I want to go ahead and add the PS3 , Mede8er Media Tank  to the network.

Is the DGS-2205 the correct choice for a switch ?

Thanks !!

Or, a DGS-2208 if you think you might need a few more ports in the future. I use both DGS-2205 and DGS-2208 and they work great.

THanks....

 I just noticed sumthin.

There's no INPUT in the back panel of this switch.
Just 5 plain ole jacks. Where's the jack for the cat5
from router plug in to ?

The manual says you can use any port you want.

Excellent !!  Gracias Amigo

I did look at the online manual and found absolutly
nothing about input port. Kinda sorta figured your
answer would be the only answer [ since there
obviously ain't any more jacks] [future NASA employee
I am not]

Ordered one thru Amazon, $30 free ship/no tax of course
