Title: Question about Windows Media Connect/Windows Media Player 11 and Napster
Post by: pjb2400 on February 21, 2008, 09:30:37 AM
I have a DSM-520 and Napster. I did not have Windows Media Connect on my computer before I got the DSM product. In order to play Napster files, instructions are to use WMC. My question is...since you can no longer download WMC 2.0 from Microsoft, can I use Windows Media Player 11, which Microsoft says has the WMC technology built in? If so, how do I do this?? Has anyone else done it successfully? Is it stable?

Thanks much!!

Yes. Windows Media Player 11 is used in place of Windows Media connect now Please view the link below for setup instructions.

Have you used it? And do you know if there are any issues to be aware of?

Thanks!

Yeah, it works great just as WMC did.

Thanks for your help. I have it working and it is good...one last question. do you know if WMP can be configured to play the songs on a CD in the intended order instead of alphabetically?? I would like to play them in the order in which they appear on the CD...

Thanks again!

I do not believe there is a setting for this option but it would be nice.
