Title: Connect DIR-615 to DIR-855 wireless
Post by: jnorr1 on April 24, 2010, 03:42:30 PM
I just upgraded from as DIR-615 to a DIR-855. Is it possible to wirelessly connect the 615 to the 855? (615 connected to 855 via 802.11n, and the 855 connected to the cable modem). I would like to put the 615 in the living room and use it to connect my TV and DVD player which would connect to the 615 via ethernet cables.

Thanks,
Jeff

There is a "Access Point Mode-Use this to disable NAT on the router and turn it into an Access Point." option in your DIR-615. Check that and set the ip of the 615 in the same subnet as the 855. Also disable DHCP in your 615. Let me know how it went.

MAybe it is because I have Rev B of the is router, but I can't find the WAP mode option anywhere. I am running Firmware Ver 2.25 which seems to be the latest. Can you point me to where the option is? I can connect to the 855 via an ethernet cable, but can't get it to connect via wireless.
