I bought this router on the recommendation of a friend, due to me having a problem getting both my son's 360 and my 360, to both have an open NAT, on XBOX Live. It works perfectly and we do in fact have open NAT's now.
I noticed there is a firmware verion newer than the one that came with my router (the 655 came with 1.32) so I am unsure about whether to update to it the new one or not. I would hate to do that and have the new firmware put me back in the same problem area I was before, where we had 1 360 that was open and 1 that was moderate, as far as the NAT went.
Can anyone provide a recommendation or some experience that shows I wont have that problem should I update to the new firmware? Thanks! :)

You already have 1.3X version so you can downgrade back to that if needed.
I am using 1.34 firmware.

I game and stream HD videos on my 360. I upgraded to 1.33 and had it working fine for a while then the reboots started and I couldn't get anything done.
I have since downgraded to 1.21 without securespot and I have had 0 problems for over 5 days now.
Bottom line, You can upgrade to 1.33 and if you have problems like I had, just downgrade you should be fine.
my 2 cents

Thanks fellas.
SomeFatGuy, you use 1.33, but is there anything I am going to be missing out on by staying at 1.32, versus upgrading to 1.33 or 1.34?
I'm not a networking genius, so I tend to be the type that if everything is ok, and both of our XBOX 360's have open NAT's while on at the same time, then leave it be. I have heard outstanding things about the 655 router and bought it on a recommendation, I just wanted to find others (hopefully) that have two 360's on one router, and see if they have positive experiences with the firmware newer than 1.32 (which came with my router).

Use the american mantra: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
If you have no issues or problems, then there is no good reason for wanting to upgrade.

When I bought the router it came with 1.32 and I kept getting wireless restarts, so I upgraded to 1.33 for about a month or so. Then it started rebooting itself and the uptime steadily rolled back to where it reboot itself every couple hours. I followed the instructions to downgrade the firmware to 1.21 without securespot, and ALL problems I've had previously have stopped, and I have NO regrets. I powercyclyed my modem lastnight so my uptime restart but it's been flawless for about 6 1/2 days now.
As far as what you'd be missing from 1.32 to 1.33, I don't know. I stayed with 1.32 for only a few hours so I can't really comment.
My suggestion is download 1.33, 1.32, and 1.21 without securespot firmware versions and the DIR-655 downgrade kit, just incase you need them in the future.
Like I said before, I didn't have problems at first.

It should be noted that once SecureSpot gets installed onto a router, you seem to have a constant SecureSpot problem.

1.34beta 3 is working great for me.
Only thing not working is Ident. Forwarding ports besides 113 seem to work just fine.
1.32 for me had broken port forwarding..
