Title: Which cameras have Native Motion Detection (not software driven)
Post by: w84wind on April 28, 2010, 07:23:34 AM
Does anyone have a list of cameras that have native motion detection?  I purchased a DCS-920 which claimed motion detection, but you have to have software actively running on your computer for it to function - which is lame.

The way that I would like to use the camera, is to have the BIOS driven motion detection trigger an event.  This would then FTP an image to my FTP server for later review.  This would greatly minimize the amout of video produced.  Otherwise, you would have to watch hours of video - just to see an event.

Thanks

The DCS-910 and 920 are the only current models that do not have native motion detection support in the US I'm not sure about cameras sold in other regions.
