First off I can only buy a router through officemax because I have a $100 gift card so this severely limits my choices. The only two that I seem to be interested in are the Belkin N+ and Dlink-655. I have done research on both. Both seem to have pros and cons and both have positive and negative reviews. I’m not just using what is on OfficeMax’s website, but have researched all over the internet. Currently the Belkin N+ goes for $79.99 and the D-Link goes on sale for $99.99 from time to time.
I currently have a Linksys WRTP54g Vonage wireless router. I plan on shutting the wireless on the router off and still using the adapter for my Vonage phone.
I want to wait until Memorial Day weekend to see if there are any additional sales and I really don’t want to go over $100. So of these 2 which would you recommend?

i cant say what to choose or not to buy. It depends on the needs. I bought an dir655 because i can use other antennes.

Hi,
I have a DIR-655 A@ version and I have been VERY happy overall with it. Let me say that as your research has probably pointed out, Other folks have not had my experience.
If you can go to the store and see if you can find an A2 version of the hardware you may also have as good luck as I have had....It "seems" that the A4 versions are slightly less stable, but that may well be me using "Rose Colored Glasses" when reading these forums....
Then again, maybe its just statistical dumb luck....

Well I think I'm going to go with the D-Link for the main reason of D-Link is still supporting this router with new firmware updates, and Belkin with the N+ is being phased out for their new router brand (play, surf,...). Any recommendations on this specific router when setting it up? I have read a lot of complaints about the securespot (or whatever it is called)
