I posted a thread a while ago showing a picture of my A1 unit that had over 150 days on without turning it off it was firmware 1.02 but recently it died. Cry's....... OK i sanded it to d link so they can repair it since i was still in warranty i know for a fact that i won't receive the router with firmware 1.02. Will the new one be A2? and what firmware will it be? and should i upgrade from that one to the latest one?. Thank you guys i will upgrade thread when i receive my new router.

I too sent my A1 and was sent the A2. I'm running firmware 1.22 and it seems to be doing well with 2 xbox 360s, blue ray player with netflix, 2 iphones, 3 wireless pcs, 4 wired devices.
You can always use the downgrade version of 1.15 to get below 1.2x and then downgrade further to 1.02. It's up to you and it's nice to have the option.

Both v1.15 and v1.22 work well. You should be happy with your next unit. Sorry that your old one died. Let us know what you get.

Hope you are right furrynuts. Btw furrynuts does the A2 unit work perfect? or does it still have some bugs? Also do you run your router with auto channel search feature on? or off? You also said that fm 1.15 and 1.22 work fine so does this mean once i get it i should upgrade to latest? or should i just leave it alone and just use it lol?
-
Both of my units are A1 so maybe others could chime in for those who have A2's. There isn't much difference between them from what I'm told. They both use the same FW versions. My N mode only 5Ghz wifi is using Auto channel scan.
I would see what is loaded on the next unit you get. I would run it like you had your other set up before and see how it goes. If it seems to do well, I would keep whats loaded. If you need to upgrade, I would go to 1.22. Since this would be a new unit and probably under warranty, I would not downgrade to 1.15 as that will break the warranty. Wait till it's out of warranty for that.

Ok furrynutz once again Ty for your time :). I will first test it out with the firmware in brings if it acts weird i will upgrade to 1.22 from the d link site i guess. Also once you send your router in to D link do they give you another year of warranty to the new unit you receive?
-
Let us know how it goes. I would ask DLink on the warranty. I presume maybe but I would get details from them. I haven't had to send one back yet. Knock on wood. ;)

Got the unit today i am testing it right now as we speak. It has firmware 1.15 preloaded into it. I am currently thinking to go 1.22 just because its new and no one has issues with it.
-
Keep v1.15 for now and see how it works.

So far so good, I am getting better results on speedtest.net then my other router so i guess that's a good thing. Router they send me had a little scratches on it so i guess it is not a new unit but w.e. I love my new A2 unit. xD

Glad it's working well. ;D

Arg! I had one reset idk why! Its all cool though.

what gave you the indication it reset?

what gave you the indication it reset?
I finished turning off the computer and all the sudden it reset itself. I saw the screen rebooting and then I check the time and it rebooted but it’s all cool it’s working now since that last reboot. Either way it is performing better then my old one or three reboots won't kill me unless I am playing with friends online.
-
Anychance of any log entry for this reboot? Curious why it's doing that...It shouldn't be. Check ur cabling? How are you connected, wired or wireless? Wonder if your ISP modem could be doing something it shouldn't. Odd to me man.

No reboots today i guess it was just a one time thing i am good for now.Remember I disable logs xD. Oh well.

I have heard Windows 7 sending some weird signal when it shuts down. Something to do with one the service that stops early. Hard to trend though with only 1 incidence. Good luck

Today I using my router and I must say for some reason the router was acting super quickly I never seen this. I was playing some call of duty and I hosted almost all matches. Couple of hours later I decided to get on my computer and I must say I was impressed, speed was very quick in downloads, browsing etc. I guess the router is livening up to the hype. For those who may ask I am on an a2 firmware 1.15 & I am very happy with my router. But yea my A1 never did such thing I am not trying to put down other users who are experiencing bad performance but I am just letting you guys now so far of my experience with it.
