I have two DIR-615 and want to use one with my cable modem and the other one as wirelss access point to connect to the other with wireless to connect all my computers on the second floor which don't have wireless. Does the DIR-615 have a access point option ?

The DIR-615 can only be configured in Access Point mode.

Yes you can. Install dd-wrt firmware on both of the routers.
The one connected to the cable modem set in "Client mode", the other one set it as a "Repeater". But this will take additional work.
Read this! http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Repeater (http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Repeater). It works for DIR-615 even it it is given a Linksys router as example.

D-Link will only support firmware versions distributed by D-Link.

Dlink will not but I will.
