Title: Using DAP-1522 as wired AP to a DIR-655
Post by: a94marbo on May 16, 2010, 12:01:21 AM
Hi am I trying to extend my wireless net work to the basement, and no wireless bridging is possible due to the concrete floor absorbing the signal between the router and AP. That’s why I need to use a wired connection between the two devices.

I want to the following setup.

Is this possible and what information to I need to input in the routing table in the router to make it work. (i.e. to use the printer, network drive from both networks) The wireless devices should be able to connect to either the router or the AP.

Should work fine; no entries in routing table needed. I would use a different SSID and channel though to avoid potential signal conflicts at/near the transition point.

This is not really different than how I initially used a DAP-1522 to add 5Ghz to a DIR-655
