Title: Accessing NAS-323
Post by: TH3_FRB on May 18, 2010, 09:11:04 PM
I've recently set up a NAS-323.  When I try to access the admin login for the NAS I always get an error message stating that the server (IP address) is taking too long to respond.  My guess is that I need to open or forward a port in the 655 for the NAS to allow wireless access through my network.  Unfortunately my network skills are about zero - I rely on wizards to get routers up and running.

Hey buddy I can help you out there. I just installed a Dir-655 today and the ip changed from 192.168.0.32 to 192.168.0.199 . But to find this out login to your router from a main computer or so. And down on the bottom of the page you login to it says Lan Computers and you'll see this

IP Address                   Name (if any)                  MAC

And you'll see your dlink sitting there with a new address. Just use that ip to get into your DNS-323 and do your thing.

Oh on a side note. While still in the admin login for the DIR-655 goto the Setup tab at the top left. Click it the goto Network Settings and at the bottom of the page you'll see

NUMBER OF DYNAMIC DHCP CLIENTS: x      (X being how many wired PC's you have plugged in)

Find your dlink DNS-323 on the list and click the button that says reserve. And it will pop up the information in the boxes above it. Just hit the save button under the boxes and the ip will never change for that device.

Take care :-)

Aaron
