I need help setting up my DCS 920 camera with comcast. I would like it to send snapshots every 30 minutes to my comcast email account but whenever I try to send a test email it comes up as invalid SMTP address when I check the status. Here are the settings I am using:
smtp server: smtp comcast.net
smtp port: 587
sender: email: xxxxxx@aim.net
receiver: xxxxxxx@comcast.net
user name: xxxxxxx@comcast.net
password: xxxxxxxx
any help is greatly appreciated/
Thanks

Put a dot between "smtp" and "comcast.net" in your smtp-server value (it is missing here in first line of settings)
EDIT: ok, sorry about the snidy-ness... But can you ping the smtp.comcast.net? Is it identical to your email-setting? Does it use SSL? That is, according to ECF not supported on the 920...

So, can you ping the smtp.comcast.net? Is it identical to your email-client setting?
Does the comcast smtp service require/use SSL? That is, according to ECF, not supported on the 920...

I am not able to telnet into smtp.comcast.net under port 25... Does comcast use the standard port-assignments? What port is used in your client-email-program? Default is port 25, but if that port is non-standard, then that needs to be reflected in your DCS-920 setup.
Have you upgraded the 920 to the latest firmware-version? For North America this is 1.03 (afaik). That firmware-version allows for some port-changes.
