My dlink dir-655 has a port forwarding setup as follows:
80 goes to 192.168.2.50
21 goes to 192.168.2.50
8080 goes to 192.168.2.50
Threw pass comcast cable modem is my my internet provider.
There is a QNAP-TS209 in my internal network with the address of 192.168.2.50. I hosts my wordpress blog, network file sharing, & FTP currently. My next goal is to get my NAS and dlink setup so that I can send a URL to people via email so they can clink on a link to post and retrieve files.
I have a domain mackconsult.com (http://mackconsult.com) at godaddy.com forwarding to http://24.22.111.106/wordpress/ (http://24.22.111.106/wordpress/). This works as it should.
I can get to my root web server if I use http://24.22.111.106/ (http://24.22.111.106/) in a browser. I currently have nothing here and plan on just putting a redirect page to point to my wordpress page.
Filezilla works fine going to 24.22.11.106. Can access my NAS from outside on the internet.
From inside on my home network I can get to http://192.168.2.50:8080 which is the web based file manager system. When I try using http://24.22.111.106:8080 (http://24.22.111.106:8080) the browser times out?
What could I be doing wrong?

Hi mackconsult,
Are you using a Cable Modem, DSL Model or FIOS ?
http://192.168.0.1/Advanced/Virtual_Server.shtml (http://192.168.0.1/Advanced/Virtual_Server.shtml)
Have you set up a rule in the Virtual_Server List to forward http://24.22.11.106 to port 8080?

Thanks for the quick reply. It's a comcast cable modem.
I will try the virtual server.
