Title: DNS323 Formated Volume 1 when inserted new larger drive in Volume 2 port.

I am sure there are many topics regarding the accidental formatting of Volume 1 when a new disk is inserted into the left bay of their DNS323.

I would like to know if there is a preferred utility to recover my data considering I did not write to Volume 1.  When the web utility formats a drive that was already formated by the DNS, what is actually done to the disk?  Is it re-partitioned and formatted or just formatted?

Is there a utility that can recreate the inode table?  Current recovery software I have tried will recover files based on file headers and footers, group them in directories by type and name them with a sequential number.  Is there a utility that will recover the files with the appropriate filename?

Thanx
