Life was great with my DIR-615 and Motorola SurfBoard SB-5100 cable modem, but my D-Link refuses to recognize the Internet signal from the Thomson. The Comcast guy spent an hour trying to get it to work, but I'm stuck watching MLB.tv on a 24" monitor in a stiff office chair in my study, instead of on a 47" LCD in my living room. How can I force the DIR-615 to accept the Thomson ACG905? If you advise me to check settings or manually change them, please do not "assume" that I know how to access those settings. Rather, PLEASE give me a few hints. THANK YOU!

I also had this problem. Instead of connecting the Thomson modem to the "Internet" port on the modem, I plugged it into a LAN port.
Viola. I have internet!

Sounds like the Thomson wasn't a modem at all then, but a modem/router combo.

You guys do realize that his question dates from May last year, right? :P

Never hurts to keep up to date with good information for others to SEARCH for, regardless on how dated the OP has become. ;D

Oops. no I didn't. I just saw the newer post and assumed the OP was new. Heh

My DIR-615 wouldn't do VoIP until I installed 6.12 firmware. Is your firmware up to 6.12?
