I am not sure when this started, possibly after my upgrade to 1.08. I have two 500GB seagate drives in RAID 1 config. What I am now seeing is the activity light on one of the drives is blinking at a constant rate. They will both blink when there is activity but once that settles down the right drive goes back to its constant blinking pattern even when the device is supposed to be in sleep mode; although I cannot confirm the device actually goes to sleep anymore.
The screens say the raid is in good condition and the log file has nothing out of the ordinary in it but I cannot run a check disk. As I understand it, the check disk is a known bug.
Any ideas what the DNS-323 is trying to tell me?

Odd. Scandisk from the web interface should work- but that doesn't sound like it's going to resolve your light issue.
The only thing you can try is reseating your drives and resetting to factory defaults- especially after a firmware upgrade.
Failing that, perhaps it's a hardware fault?

I am having the same problem. I noticed it sometime last month. When I powered down the drive, then back up, both lights were solid. It wasn't until after I copied some files to it that the right side light started blinking. I have noticed also that the drive runs hotter with the light blinking and it sounds like a drive is still running, evening though I have the sleep timer set to 5 minutes. I have 2 1TB WD drives formatted as RAID 1, using firmware 1.07. They have been in use for right at a year now.

What drives are you using and do you have any addons installed either supported or unsupported? Bittorrent running, UPnP, FFP etc? It sounds like the 1st drive is still being read/written to (right bay) hence not going to sleep.
