Title: Drive can't be read?
Post by: f0cus on May 31, 2010, 12:38:20 PM
Hi All,

I've just come back from a weekend away to find that my Windows 7 PC can't access my DNS-323.

Is there some easy way to find out what's wrong?

I've tried restarting it but that has no effect. There's no indication from the web interface that anything is wrong.

I'm running it in RAID 1 with 2x 500GB HDD.

TIA

So you are able to access the web interface from this PC, but not shares?

Can you ping the DNS-323?  What are the exact symptoms of the failure to read?

I did a full restart of everything and it's ok.

Thanks for your swift replies!  Sorry it wasn't a real problem.  Not sure what the cause was but Windows kept telling me that it couldn't read the file system and that it could be corrupt.  Think I'm going to make that backup I was planning!!

If in doubt, restart it. That's level 1 support :)
