Title: Loaded 1.34NA but router shows 1.32NA version
Post by: MrGST on May 31, 2010, 05:30:51 PM
Hi...
First question, I just updated the firmware from 1.32NA to 1.34NA but the router still shows 1.32NA as being installed. The update process goes fine without errors. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Lots of threads about this.

Push the reset button on the back of the router until all the lights flash.

Wait for router to fully initialize then flash firmware again.

Thanks. I did try searching but didn't find anything. What search criteria can you recommend so I can find some of those posts?

Btw...I just followed your advice and successfully updated the router. Thanks!

I'd still like to know what to search on because I'm still not coming up with any results...

Click advanced search and select the DIR655 forum only to search.

Search the word update.

It took me a few minutes to figure out how to show / select the individual forums in Advanced Search...but once I figured it out, I was able to search and find results. Thanks!

ps. I'm really NOT an idiot, LOL. :-)

Push the reset button on the back of the router until all the lights flash.
Wait for router to fully initialize then flash firmware again.

So, I guess there is a difference in quick push of the RESET versus longer push/hold ?
I assume one is quick reset where config/firmware revision stays and other resets to initial defaults/firmware ?

Thx.

Apparently. Before I joined the forum, I attempted to reset/reinstall but it didn't work. After holding the button in for about 15 seconds, all (or most, I think two on the left didn't) blinked and the new firmware installed correctly.
