Title: Extremely slow LAN file transfers where it was zippy before

This never was a problem before. I could drag a 2G file from another machine and it would zip it across in 3-to-4 minutes via Ethernet and slightly slower if I used WiFi-N.

Now no matter what I do, the same thing can take 30-50 minutes.

I'm not sure what to do to bring this back to the former glory days. There's really no reason in heck that when all the machines are Gig-E this should be anything but zippy--but it's not.

The DIR-655 is Hardware version A4 with firmware 1.34NA

Network:

*Power Mac G5 running latest updated Leopard
*MacBook Pro running latest updated Snow Leopard
*Dell XPS-410 running Windows XP SP3
*The DIR-655
*Internet is Verizon DSL with a Westell WireSpeed 6100 Dual Connect modem

QoS Engine:

WAN Traffic Shaping:
*Traffic Shaping enabled
*Automatic Uplink Speed disabled

QOS Engine Setup:
*Enable QoS Engine enabled
*Automatic Classification enabled
*Dynamic Fragmentation enabled

Ideas? Let me know what other settings you need to know.

Also, and maybe touchy subject, I've been told by more than one ''expert'' that the DIR-655 is a ''lemon'' whereas some two years ago it received rave reviews. Is the DIR-655 a ''lemon'' or did it get that way from so much firmware tinkering?

Okay, so this is interesting. I think I've figured out the culprit and it ain't pretty.

VirusBarrier X6. I had to turn off everything but the the Spyware protection feature. From what I had heard, Intego had resolved their slow-down issue with their new and improved software. Apparently not.

I just dragged a 2G file from the Dell to the MacBook Pro and it zipped across in 1-minute. Did the same with the same 2G file from the Dell to the Power Mac G5.

HOWEVER - From Mac to Mac, the transfer still takes 31-minutes. Either direction. Why would this be? From Windows to Mac is speedy but Mac to Mac is not.
