Title: Adapter driver behavior

Hello, I have installed this new wireless network at home and I am very satisfied with the result so far.

But on my computer, the wireless driver, is monopolizing the system for a half second every 60 seconds or so which causes my audio recording software to stop. The signal is Very good to Excellent on this computer.

I used "DPC Latency Checker v1.1.0" from "www.thesycon.de"

Now, I have to disable the driver when I want to use my music program.

Is there a way to change the behavior of this driver ?

I updated driver (6.0.3.107) and firmware (1.10).

The newer driver shouldn't have that issue. Try restoring your machine to before you installed it or clean the registry and install the latest driver fresh.

Some people have reported having trouble similar to this caused by the DLink Connection Manager, try disabling that and then using the Windows Zero Configuration utility.  If that does not help, try the latest drivers available through Windows Update or the ones on Dlink's website.  Good Luck, and I hope things work out for you.

Thanks, I already have the latest drivers from the D-Link site ( 1.30 ) on a fresh WinXP install. Is there a newer driver coming out soon ?

I also removed the Connection manager from the Startup menu.

It is not the Connection Manager that is acting up but rather the driver itself.

It's not a major problem to disable the driver when recording/playing music but it would be nice if I didn't have to...

Another option is downgrading the driver to a previous version, sometimes the newer drivers break functionality of the OS and the Hardware.  This one helped me a lot:

Thanks, I'll try this driver and a couple of other ones I saw from Atheros...

This is what I mean ( view attachment ) by regular interruptions from the driver, nothing you can really notice from the user interface but sensitive applications like audio will suffer from it...

We've seen that in older versions of the driver. Nice utility, is it accurate?

It is still there with the latest version (dwa552_drivers_140b09).

I don't how "accurate" this utility is but it does demonstrate the problem effectively.

This is how I was able to pinpiont the problem to the DWA-552 driver.
