I had been using the NAS for over 1 year. It worked properly except one of the harddrive failed (because of non-stop BT maybe...) and I had replaced it and everything was OK for another half year until today... When I turned on the NAS the power led kept on flashing and I couldn't netvigate to its IP (cannot detect the ip.... ping without response). I couldn't turn it off unless I pulled out the power cable... I tried to test if any of the harddrives was not working. I tried not putting any harddrive, putting either one or both but no hope.... Anybody had this problem before?? What should I do??? The warranty had passed and could I still find D-link to fix it??

Did you try the reset button?
-
Actually it just hanged... it had no response whether I pressed the power button or the reset button... I could turn if off only by pulling out the power cable...
-
Have you held the power or reset buttons for a lengh of time? You need to.
-
yes....

If it won't start up at all with no drives in, it sounds like a hardware fault. You didn't by chance interupt a firmware upgrade?
-
I updated the firmware long time before and worked fine till this incident....
Somehow I occasionally got the led not flashing, but I just couldn't netvigate to it... nor it could be detected in the network, even though the router gave the device an IP...

Time to contact D-Link.
