As far as I can tell, the DFL 800 doesn't support native Active/Slave functionality with another DFL 800 - that appears to be reserved to the 1600 and 2500 models. Correct me if I'm wrong.
However, could it be possible to achieve a Active/Slave setup with 2x DFL 800's using some clever routing between both of them and monitoring on both sides?

HA means both devices looks for other networks as one. If you want to use 2 DFL-800, you will need two ISP connections (or 2 IP addresses from same ISP) and you can set L3 favorier between DFLs. But it will be two separated devices, keep it in mind. HA is not possible on DFL-210/800 by license limitations.

Hi,
The units will be used in a rack environment with 2 feeds from independent peers.
I understand that they would be 2 separate devices and that each router would have to be configured upon each change.
As there will be several VLANs configured behind the DFL 800 - they all rely on the DFL for gateway routing, if this goes down, I would like another to take over.

But if it isn't possible with the DFL800 - I think I might sell it on and get a couple of ZyWALL USG 100 as they natively support HA.

Yeah, this is a brilliant Firewall and I must say I love the interface - but I can't quite budget 2x 1600's just yet. Its a shame as I really like it as a product, very stable and powerful!
Nevertheless, maybe someone else can benefit from it - its now for sale on eBay :(
