Title: DGS-1224T regularly hanging up
Post by: fnguyen on June 07, 2010, 02:38:27 PM
Hello,

We've purchased and installed several DGS-1224T.
At first, they worked pretty fine.
Then we started having issues now and then like PC's not being able to reach the network/server anymore.
The network interface would appear up, but no ethernet frame would be switched at all while sniffing the network.
Sometimes after rebooting the switch, everything would restart working again for a week or two.
Sometimes, even after rebooting the switch several times, some ports would keep on not switching any frame, even though the ports would be detected as "up".

I was considering it could be a hardware issue, but the problem occurs on most of them (those which have the most ports connected)

Is anybody awared of any limitation? (like the number of Gbit ports simultanously connected or so)
Most our PC's have a gigabit ethernet card and we purchased thoses switches hoping network performances would be better. But since we installed them, we keep on having issues and having to reboot the switches.

Thanks a lot for your advises!
