Title: Invalid MAC address for securespot?
Post by: jackl92 on June 11, 2010, 05:13:32 PM
Just bought a new DIR655 today, when i enable securespot and sign up for it, it says my MAC address is invalid...

How an I suppose to get it work? the PH num on the bottom is more like a tech support.

The fix is to buy a netgear or cisco.  I have both the dir-330 and dir-825 and they both exhibit the same problem with MAC addresses starting with anything other than 00.  D-link firmware is buggy and they refuse to fix it.  You do have your choices and you can voice them by taking your business elsewhere.

The post below implies that  SecureSpot and D-Link are parting ways:

I'm hoping that this means that there will finally be a SecureSpot-free firmware release, as it seems to interfere with some of the more basic functionality of the router...
