Title: Going back to 1.15 due to wireless drops
Post by: vlj9r on June 12, 2010, 10:39:53 AM
Having many frequent wireless connection drops from a PC running another Dlink wireless N adapter under 1.22.  Since going to firmware 1.15 I have not dropped the connection from that PC.

Here is the message in the log:
"Wireless system with MAC address xxxxxxxxxxxx disconnected for reason: Received Deauthentication"

So basically your saying that 1.15 works better for you than the 1.22. Awesome, thanks for sharing this information. Glad you no longer getting connection drops.

I still get these errors and I'm at 1.15.  It only happens with my dlink adapter for my desktop.  My dell laptop built in wireless seems to maintain a connection at all times.

Did you atleast try 1.23 first?

I'm on 1.23NA right now and it still drops sometimes.

I also have another problem with the router. I do ping test while I have no games loaded up and the ping has almost no jitter. After leaving the wireless on/connected for a long time, when I start up a game such as SC2 or WOW, the wireless jitter gets really bad. I would get like very low pings then all of a sudden a big spike on like every few pings.

I'm thinking about going down to 1.15

I have not as I'm worried with some of the issues I've heard.  My dlink desktop adapter is new to my environment and it's the only device having connection issues.  I've upgraded the drivers to the adapter and still the same issues.  I'll upgrade the firmware on the router as a last resort.
