i bought the Dir 615 a few months ago so that my tenants (i have a triplex) can use the net. it's been great. I recently got a new blackberry bold 9700 and I can't connect it. It finds the router and saves it, but I can't connect. Even when I put in the WEP Key.
HELP!!!

STOP using WEP for God's sake! WEP has been insecure for years now and is crackable in a few seconds by anyone with two or more neurons. I wish routers would remove the ability to use WEP from their interfaces all together. Blackberry is certainly capable of using WPA2 and so are all modern devices. Set your encryption to WPA2 with AES cipher.
Now, regarding the matter at hand. Is your router working in mixed mode? b/g/n? Also, what is your revision? Otherwise known and written on the box and device as "H/W Ver." And what is your "S/W Ver." or firmware version? It should say in the upper right corner of the web interface.

The only reason i used WEP is because my tenant's couldn't connect with WPA. It only worked with WEP.
How do I know if it's in mixed mode? When I go the router site to login to change things, I don't notice anywhere that it says mixed mode. I can't log into my router site at work. I'll check it tonight for the "H/W Ver" and "S/W Ver."
I'm not a techie. My brother set my router up for me, but he's been busy and has not been able to come down to help me. That's why I joined this forum, cuz i need some help!!
Thanks for replying!

This is what i have
Hardware Version: C1 Firmware Version: 3.10NA
-
Try updating to 3.12NA, which is the latest for your hardware revision. Get it from: ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/dir615_revC/Firmware/dir615_revC_fw_312NA.zip
Unpack and use the DIR615C1_FW312NA.bin inside to upgrade from the interface. All of your settings should theoretically be kept in place after the upgrade, but just for safety you could back them up first.

Thanks for the link to the latest hardware version. when i did a search on the interface, it came up with 3.11NA not 3.12NA.
I was scared that i'd lose all my configurations, but most of them stayed.
I was able to briefly connect to my bb, but I was afraid that my router was now not secure, so i went in and re-configure a few things. But then....it stopped working. arg!! But at least i know it'll connect...i just have to figure out how to configure my settings on my bb.

i still can't connect my bb 9700 to my dir 615. So frustrating!!
I was at my parents and i had no problem connecting to their router. is it the Dir 615 that just doesn't seem to like bb 9700?!?!?! Is there anyone out there that can help!?

I am in need of help....I bought a D-Link DIR-615 today, I installed it by following the wizard disc...my internet works properly but getting wifi isn't working. My Blackberry 9700 finds the router when I scan for it, but when I click it, it asks for me to enter a PIN into my wireless router...I dont understand where I have to insert that pin, WHERE DO I GO!?.....when I manually add the network, I can save it but it still doesnt allow me to access the internet, samething with "Push Button Setup".....it finds the router, allows me to save it but doesnt allow me to use the internet....someone help me please and thank you give me steps on what I should do

I recommend going to the routers web page and set up a WPA or WPA2 security using a Password as it's more secure and simpler using a password.
