Title: Changing from wpa to wep so my daughter's can use Nintehdo dsi
Post by: claystar on June 17, 2010, 07:44:59 PM
Well, this sucks! I need to change to WEP so that my two daughters can use there Nintendo DSI for internet use.
I really need my WPA for my Home Network System.
Can I use WEP and have a security code?
What else may I do that I do not know?
How do I do these changes to 192.168.0.1?
thank YOU

The DSi can use WEP or WPA.

Quote
WPA - The Nintendo DSi, Nintendo DSi XL, and Wii are compatible with both WEP and WPA security.

possibly explore using the Guest zome for the nintendo units....keep your LAN on WPA/WPA2 with AES cipher....

Yep.   I was also going to suggest using the Guest zone - I don't think that it will even do anything other than WEP, and it saved me from having to enter a 64 character random key for my WPA2 encryption on my kids' iPod touches...

Think you should try the connections starting at 4 if i am right, there you can enter WPA.
First list does not feature this.

DSi of my daughter working well with my router in this setup.

Access your router internal web pages and look for Guest Zone in the "Advanced" tab.

The Guest Zone will still require a WPE / WPA key.  Only those whom you give this key to will be able to access the wireless guest zone.
