Title: Incomplete torrent moved in "Complete" when sharing the same folder
Post by: irotjaf on June 18, 2010, 09:08:57 AM
Hi,

I started downloading torrent files, and by coincidence two of them had the same folder (Season 1). When one was finished, BitTorrent moved all the folder Season 1 to the "Complete" folder. As a result the incomplete download stopped and couldn't start again. I had to select and move the incomplete folder/files in a newly created folder called Season 1 in the "Incomplete" folder. After this I could start the download again (hope the files are not corrupt).

Did anybody experienced this problem and do you have any solution where to search for it?

I looked into Nas_prog/BT folder but the program seems to be binary and non editable.

Any clue?

This issue would be the same for any torrent client when the primary directory is the same. As the download directory cannot be set for each torrent with this software, your options are limited. Download only one at a time or switch clients (tranmission allows you to specify a directory path for example).

Thank you dosborne. Didn't use torrents before to notice this behavior. But is curious that the first day I use them I encounter this problem. Since the program knows when a torrent is finished, it knows also which are the files of that torrent... and move only those.

Computers should think for humans, not require humans to think about them. So I would say programmers lack fantasy at this point. :)
