Title: DSM 750 does not play H.264 files

I have a number if H.264 files I received encoded. Play well on my PCs with Quicktime or DivX. When trying to play on DSM0750 - screen goes blank and crashes.... need to turn on / off button manually for it to reboot. The file extension is MP4.

Called D-Link support and the answer is change the file extension and encode differently -- but not how - AVI was mentioned. But that would loose H.264 benefits. H.264 is supported according to spec. Anybody has luck / experience playing H.264 encoded files successfully on the DSM-750.

Turns out it works smoothely if you run the D-Link Media Server. D-Link support went all over - but we only came up now that it all not works if you do not run the D-Link Media Server. Now running the latest version and all is good...

Thats good. The issue you where seeing is that natively mp4 support is limited to ASP profile. I would recommend running MKV's.
