I spent nearly 10 hours trying to set up my new DR-615. This was just what I wanted. Remote desktop connection, visibility of my working web server from outside. I tried all the techniques that I discovered. Port Forwarding with appropriate ports, Adding a client to the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone), Firmware update. All this happens on a PC with Windows 7 with firewall Off. All attempts of all handbooks dashed. I tried with another device from my neighbor, different brand which has a similar interface via web. And guess what? Everything start working properly immediately. I asked myself, why then buy your product? And I answered to: never do this again!

If everything fails, try installing dd-wrt on it. It's a firmware that's not from D-Link and it fixes most problems.

Actually I'm a little surprised. Following this excellent guide, I changed firmware and all work like a charm. Web server, FTP, SSH, etc. Practically everything I needed. Thanks for the wonderful firmware :) I apologize for my English.
