Title: DIR-615 stops working, gets really hot, both wireless and wired
Post by: zm15 on June 22, 2010, 07:04:36 PM
My router just stops working after about 20 minutes of resetting everything. The wired connection just stops, and the router is quite hot to the touch. What is going on? Is my router shot?

Nothing seems to work, and when I reset it back to factory settings, it is quite slow.

What is your revision? Otherwise known and written on the box and device as "H/W Ver." And what is your "S/W Ver." or firmware version? It should say in the upper right corner of the web interface.

H/W Version: C1

and as for firmware, when it stopped working it was on 3.10, then I upgraded it to 3.12, nothing.

It's like it won't communicate from the modem to the computer.

I've flashed the BIOS back to 3.0, and tried dd-wrt, but nothing.

I can't get the internet to work over the LAN.

Running windows error fix, it says that i have a bad DNS connection, or the DNS server is down. When i plug directly into the modem, works great.

Thoughts???
