Title: Looking to buy a new D-Link WAP. I have a DIR-655 ATM. Need Assist
Post by: Ralph_P on June 22, 2010, 11:24:22 PM
Can someone tell me if the DIR-855 is any better/more stable than the DIR-655? I came from the DR-655 forums and there appears to be a rash of hardware or firmware issues affecting internet speed and link stability. I am looking to move up and get a newer router. Any opinions or experiences?

I had my 855 for over a year with no problems and a month ago it started acting up. I was able to get a new one (refurbished) back from an RMA and all is good again.

In the time that the 855 was in for RMA i used a D-Link 635 which i must admit was a very nice router. The 655 is a step up from that one so i wouldn't upgrade unless your current router is damaged in some way that you cannot send it back for replacement or repair.
