Hello,
I've just bought this wireless router and after several hours of configuration I still cannot get my MacBook Pro's wireless to work. I can connect normally with the cable. Tried with (WEP and WPA) and without security.
My Nintendo DS connected flawlessly to the wireless.
Any support is well appreciated.
Thanks!

What is your revision? Otherwise known and written on the box and device as "H/W Ver." And what is your "S/W Ver." or firmware version? It should say in the upper right corner of the web interface.

Hardware Version: C2
Firmware Version: 3.03WW

What happens if you use an app like KisMAC (free download here (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/10133/kismac)) to scan for a signal? Are you trying to get an IP by DHCP? I always give my Macs a manual address outside the range of the router's DHCP server (e.g. 192.168.0.254) under the TCP/IP tab in the network preferences panel. The subnet should be 255.255.255.0 and router 192.168.0.1 if you are using d-link firmware. While you're on that tab, turn off IPv6. There are more drastic things you can do, such as trashing your network prefs, but try these first. I've been using a dir-615 C1 router for about a year with my Macbook Pro with no serious problems. Good luck.

Update the router's firmware. You are using an old version.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I'll try these and report back to you ASAP.

UPDATE:
I've tried stonetownmike's configurations (http://cl.ly/ad476f9d985f66bc4038 (http://cl.ly/ad476f9d985f66bc4038)), but had no luck. Same “Connection timeout” error after a few seconds (http://cl.ly/2d664cde3dd1fb1284b8 (http://cl.ly/2d664cde3dd1fb1284b8)). Even if I type a wrong password it returns the same error.
Also I couldn't update the firmware. I got the latest version for revision C from D-Link's official website but it returned this error:
“The uploaded firmware file may not be correct. You may have uploaded a file that is not intended for this device, or the uploaded file may be corrupted.
If the uploaded file is correct, it is possible that the device may be too busy to properly receive it right now. In this case, please try the upload again. It is also possible that you are logged in as a 'user' instead of an 'admin' - only administrators can upload new firmware.
The Gateway will not be reprogrammed.”
I noticed the filename is DIR615C1_FW312NA.bin. Could it be that there are no versions for C2?
When I use the “Check Online Now for Latest Firmware Version”, it says “This firmware is the latest version” (which is 3.03WW from July 22th 2009).

UPDATE:
KisMAC finds the same routers as Airport. Do you want any info about it?

When I try to download the newest firmware I get the filename:
"dir615_revC_fw_312NA.zip" and not just C1. Where do you download from? and you could always pick another country if that's the problem.
Otherwise there's also the brilliant third party "ww-drt" firmware. Guide for 615 here:

It says C1 might work for C2 but the dd-wrt.com website mentions that c2 is now fully supported.

Yea, the ZIP file has only C, but the BIN file inside it has that C1.
I'll try to download the firmware from the local D-Link website (instead of global) and see if there's any difference.
I've got the same error from trying to use the ww-drt firmware.

UPDATE:
No luck. The latest firmware in my country's D-Link website is already the one I'm using: 3.03WW.

If ww-drt didn't work with standard configuration I see two things that could be wrong:
1. Something is wrong with your mac / your mac's settings
2. The hardware is broken (but seems unlikely as your other device easily connects to it)

It's not like ww-drt didn't work. I couldn't even install it.
I don't believe it's my Mac's problem as I can connect to several other wifi spots at malls, cafes and offices.
Maybe they just don't match well and need some extra configuration — which is a shame in my opinion. I'm disappointed :/
I think I'll try a bit more though. Does anybody have any more suggestions?

If you can't install firmwares then something is definitely wrong. With what I can't tell with the limited information you have given.

The error message that appears when I try to install the firmware is in my previous posts. It seems like version mismatch.
Please let me know what more information I can provide for you to have a better understanding of the situation.

Are you sure you have tried to flash the factory firmware from: ftp://dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/06-12-10-r14594/dlink-dir615c1/ ?
Do you have a problem with corrupt downloads?
-
When you say flash it means the just uploading the bin through the web interface? If so, yes.
No corrupt downloads.
-
If you are sure you are installing from the file with "factory" in the filename, try installing it through the emergency room interface. It's mentioned in the guide I gave you as well.
-
I'm not convinced the problem is the firmware. A lot of MacBook Pro users have posted complaints about this issue on the Apple discussions forum. You might try the solutions suggested in this post. (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10695921&start=1) (Note that number 4 will cause you to lose all your network settings.) Are you using OS X 10.5 or 10.6? Most users' problems seem to be with 10.5.
-
I've tried some fixes from the Apple forums before coming here but none helped. I'll read the suggested post and try again. I'm using Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.4.
I'll also try to update the firmware through the emergency room.
Note that my wireless is working perfectly with other routers.

Some users on the dd-wrt forum have reported trouble flashing dd-wrt firmware with Macs. One recommended borrowing a Windows PC to do it with Internet Explorer. I had no problem flashing it with my Mac, though.

Hello fellows,
It's been a long time and I come with good — although ashaming — news.
I just managed to get the router working with my MacBook Pro by adding the wireless card MAC Address to the whitelist. I had only the wired card MAC Address in the list.
Anyways, I'm inclined not to consider this as a complete failure of my part (lol) because when I tried to connect without filtering or any security options, it didn't work.
Thanks for all your attention and support. I'm a happy wireless user now.
