Title: OpenDNS Dynamic IP update
Post by: ericdesh68 on June 29, 2010, 08:50:08 PM
Got a DIR-615 Rev C1 about 1 year ago, running with 3.12NA firmware with no issues at this point. I want to setup my home network with OpenDNS but I'd like the router to perform the dynamic IP updates as it beats installing the updater on every single device (1 WinXp, 2 Ubuntu, 1 PSP). Is there a way to configure the router to perform the IP update to OpenDNS (or perhaps via DNS-O-Matic)?

Thanks for your help.

Most D-Link router will accept The DynDNS server service in the firmware.  Some will also accept the "re-branded" D-Link Dynamic DNS server (DynDNS hosted.)

To use the OpenDNS service, you need to set up a "software" client on a PC.  You do not to install it on every unit.
