Title: 655 Still dropping me
Post by: impalacustom on July 01, 2010, 09:10:24 PM
I did all the things that were suppose to fix this POS.  I defaulted it back to factory, installed 1.34NA, did the 300mhz, did the DST fix, and deactivated the Secure Spot.  I am still dropping connection.  For some reason none of this fixed it.  My cable company said that the router is asking the modem for a DHCP release and that is when I loose my connection even though the cable company said the response was 4ms.  I have set the release to 1440min and I need to figure this out or it's time to scrap my d-link and go linksys.  Any help will be appreciated.  I have called d-link 3 times now and they are useless so I am turning here.

try going to setup/ manual internet connection/ and setting use unicasting to the opposite of how it is currentlly set, also disable advanced dns service.

and under setup/ network settings i would disable dns relay.

also if you set in your network card drivers to force to 300 i would put it to auto or even 155

Thank you for the help but it still disco's randomly and I called D-Link again and well I gotta say I know how to fix the problem.  I went and bought a Linksys E3000 and can't be happier.  I am going to take my AR15 to this router and post on youtube on how to properly fix this POS.
Thanks again though for trying to help me.

You have to turn DHCP and NAT off in your modem or set it to bridge mod.
There is double DHCP-server and NAT.
4ms is respons time to internet.  Your 1440min are DHCP Lease Time to your computers, big different.
